Bickty · Rider agreement

Terms of Service

These Terms are the agreement between you and Bickty. They cover your account, the content you share, how the community should behave, what happens when you join a ride or send a gift, and the limits of what we can promise.

Effective October 26, 2026 Last updated October 26, 2026

Bickty is operated by the Bickty team (“Bickty,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading the Bickty app, creating an account, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and the End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use Bickty.

The short version

Be yourself, be decent, and ride within your limits. You own what you post and give us permission to show it. Rides are organised by riders, not by Bickty. Gifts are consumable digital items, not money. And cycling is inherently risky — you are responsible for your own safety.

This summary is for orientation only. The full text below is what actually governs.

01The Service

Bickty is a community app for people who ride bicycles. The Service lets you create a rider profile, share posts, photos and videos, comment, like, follow other riders, send digital gifts, discover and join rides, and use Field Kit tools such as maintenance logs and setup calculators. The Service is currently offered as an iOS application, supported by servers operated for us by third-party infrastructure providers.

Bickty is a platform for riders to connect. We are not a bike shop, tour operator, ride organiser, coach, insurer, medical provider, or emergency service.

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may stop offering the Service or any part of it. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes that affect you, but we do not guarantee that any feature will remain available.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Bickty. If you are under 18, you may use Bickty only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. If you are under 13, do not use Bickty.

If the law where you live requires a higher age for consenting to digital services — for example, up to 16 in some parts of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom — you must meet that age. You must also be legally able to enter into a binding agreement with us, and you must not be barred from using the Service under the laws of your country or any applicable export or sanctions rules.

You may use Bickty only in regions where we make it available.

03Your account

You can create an account with a username and password, or with Sign in with Apple. You agree to provide information that is accurate and to keep it up to date.

You are responsible for your account and for everything that happens through it. Keep your password confidential, do not share your account, and do not create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us promptly at support@bickty.app.

We may reclaim, change, or require you to change a username that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, is misleading, or otherwise violates these Terms. We may also suspend or terminate accounts under Section 13.

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account in the app. Deletion is irreversible. Your profile and content will no longer be shown to other users, your sessions will be revoked, and your username will be anonymised. Some records may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

04Your content

“Your content” means everything you submit to Bickty: profile details, bios, photos, videos, posts, comments, likes, ride listings, ride descriptions, checklists, Field Kit entries, and any other material you upload or create.

You keep ownership

You retain ownership of your content. These Terms do not transfer your ownership to us.

The permission you give us

To operate the Service, you grant Bickty a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence (with the right to sublicense to our service providers) to host, store, cache, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, transmit, and modify your content — including by resizing, transcoding, formatting, or creating previews — and to make it available to other users, in each case solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service and to promote Bickty. This includes showing your posts in feeds, on profiles, in search results, and in connection with rides and gifts.

This licence lasts for as long as your content is on the Service. If you delete content or your account, we will stop displaying it, but the licence continues for a reasonable period for backup, cache, and archival copies, and for content that other users have already copied or shared. We may also retain records where the law requires it or where needed to investigate abuse, resolve disputes, or enforce these Terms.

What you promise

You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have all necessary rights and permissions to post your content; (b) your content does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights; (c) you have consent from any identifiable person shown in your photos or videos; and (d) your content complies with these Terms and the law.

Content is public

Bickty is a social service. Your profile, posts, comments, rides you host, and other content are visible to other users and may be seen by anyone with access to the Service. Do not post confidential information, your home address, financial details, or anything you would not want a stranger to see. Other users can screenshot or copy what you share, and we cannot control that.

We do not endorse your content

User content reflects the views of the person who posted it, not Bickty. We do not verify the accuracy of posts, ride details, route descriptions, or advice shared by users.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use them without compensation or attribution. We are not obligated to keep them confidential.

05Community rules

Bickty has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We want this to be a place where riders feel safe, so the following rules apply to every account:

  • No illegal activity. Do not use Bickty to break the law, plan illegal activity, or solicit illegal goods or services.
  • No hate or harassment. Do not attack, threaten, stalk, bully, or dehumanise anyone based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
  • No sexual content involving minors. This is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities. Do not post sexually explicit content, or content that sexualises or exploits anyone.
  • No graphic or gratuitous violence. Do not post content that glorifies violence, self-harm, animal cruelty, or serious injury.
  • No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, a Bickty employee, or an organisation you are not affiliated with, and do not use misleading account names or images.
  • No spam, scams, or fraud. Do not post unsolicited advertising, pyramid schemes, phishing messages, fake giveaways, or anything designed to deceive or defraud.
  • No privacy violations. Do not share another person’s private information — home address, phone number, workplace, real-time location, identifying documents — without their consent. Do not “dox” anyone.
  • No intellectual property theft. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.
  • No technical abuse. Do not introduce malware, scrape or harvest data, use bots or automated tools, attempt to bypass rate limits or payment systems, probe or test our security without authorisation, or otherwise interfere with the Service.
  • No dangerous riding encouragement. Do not encourage illegal racing, traffic-law violations, riding without required safety equipment, or stunts that put others at risk.
  • No false ride information. Do not misrepresent a ride’s route, difficulty, timing, safety, or your identity as a host.
  • No unlawful trade or sanctions violations. Do not use the Service in violation of export control, sanctions, or other applicable laws.

These rules apply to posts, comments, profiles, ride listings, images, videos, usernames, and messages sent through the Service. Breaking them may result in content removal, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination, depending on severity and history. We may also preserve and disclose information to law enforcement where we believe there is a genuine risk of harm or a legal obligation to do so.

06Reports, moderation, and blocking

You can report posts, comments, users, and rides from the app using Report & Remove. When you report something, it is removed from your view right away. Reports are private — the person you report is not told who reported them. Where available, you can also block the user in the same step.

Blocking hides that user’s profile, rides, posts, and comments from you. It does not necessarily prevent them from seeing public content, and it does not notify them.

We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend accounts. We are not obligated to monitor all content, and we do not guarantee that we will review a report within any particular time. We may leave content up, remove it, or restore it after review. Decisions about moderation are made at our discretion.

If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal by emailing support@bickty.app with your username, the content or account at issue, and why you think the decision should be reconsidered. We will look at it, but we do not promise a particular outcome.

We may keep records of reports and moderated content for safety, legal, and enforcement purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy. Accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms may be permanently terminated.

08Rides and real-world safety

Read this before you join a ride

Rides posted on Bickty are organised by users, not by Bickty. We do not organise, lead, supervise, vet, insure, or guarantee any ride. Cycling is inherently dangerous, and you participate at your own risk.

Our role

Bickty provides tools that let riders publish and discover rides. We do not verify the identity, experience, or qualifications of hosts or participants. We do not check routes, distances, difficulty ratings, start times, weather, road conditions, or whether a ride complies with local law. A ride listing is user content, not a Bickty endorsement.

Your responsibility

Before joining or hosting a ride, you are responsible for assessing whether it is suitable for you. That includes your fitness, skill, health, equipment, the route, traffic, weather, daylight, surface conditions, and local rules. You are responsible for your own bicycle, helmet, lights, brakes, tyres, hydration, and any safety gear required by law or common sense.

You agree to ride lawfully and safely, to follow traffic laws, and not to encourage or participate in illegal racing, stunts, or reckless behaviour through the Service. If you host a ride, you are responsible for the accuracy of the details you publish and for planning it safely. Hosts are not our agents, employees, or representatives.

Assumption of risk

You understand that cycling involves risks that cannot be eliminated, including collisions, falls, mechanical failure, road hazards, weather, encounters with vehicles, injury, permanent disability, and death. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you knowingly and voluntarily assume those risks when you use the Service, join a ride, or host one.

Not an emergency service

Bickty is not an emergency service, dispatch service, or safety monitor. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number immediately. Do not rely on Bickty or other users to summon help.

Disputes between riders

We are not a party to arrangements, agreements, or disputes between riders. You are responsible for your own interactions with other users, both online and in person. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Bickty from any claims, demands, and damages of every kind arising out of or relating to your disputes with other users.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain risk waivers or exclusions. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In particular, nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

09Gifts and in-app purchases

Bickty offers digital gifts — such as a Road Bell, Spoke Spark, or Golden Cog — that you can send to celebrate a post. Gifts are a way to show appreciation inside the community. They are not money, donations, investments, securities, or property, and they carry no cash value.

Purchases through Apple

Gifts are sold as consumable in-app purchases through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment and is the merchant of record for the transaction. Your purchase is also subject to Apple’s terms and policies. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Prices, applicable taxes, and currency are shown by the App Store at checkout. We may change the gift catalogue, prices, or availability at any time, but changes do not affect purchases already completed.

No refunds from Bickty

Gifts are non-refundable except as required by Apple’s policies or applicable law. Because gifts are consumable, they cannot be restored if lost, and deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund. Refund requests must be made to Apple, for example through reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue Apple refunds ourselves.

No transfer or cash-out

Gifts cannot be transferred, traded, sold, redeemed for cash, or exchanged outside the Service. Receiving a gift does not give you money or an account balance. Gifts may be displayed publicly on the post to which they were sent.

Records and fraud

We record limited transaction information — such as the gift type, quantity, and transaction identifier — to deliver gifts, provide support, prevent fraud, and comply with law. We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in fraudulent purchases, chargebacks, or payment abuse.

10Field Kit and informational tools

Field Kit includes calculators and logs for tyre pressure, gear ratios, maintenance schedules, ride records, fuelling and hydration, and pace planning. These tools are provided for general informational and organisational purposes.

Results are estimates based on the information you enter and on general assumptions. They are not professional mechanical, engineering, medical, nutritional, or coaching advice. Always follow your bicycle manufacturer’s specifications, use a qualified mechanic for safety-critical work, and consult a qualified professional for medical or nutritional questions.

Maintenance reminders depend on your device’s notification system. They may be delayed, suppressed, or missed — for example, if notifications are disabled or the device is offline. Do not rely on Bickty for safety-critical maintenance deadlines.

You are responsible for inspecting and maintaining your bicycle and for deciding whether it is safe to ride.

11Third-party services

Bickty relies on services provided by Apple (including the App Store, Sign in with Apple, and in-app purchases) and by Cloudflare (including hosting, databases, and media storage). These providers process information on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own terms.

Your use of Apple services is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Apple is not a party to these Terms except as described in the EULA, and Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Bickty.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Following a link does not mean we endorse what you find there.

12Our intellectual property

The Service — including the Bickty name, logo, interface, visual design, software, source code, text, graphics, icons, and Field Kit content — is owned by Bickty or licensed to us, and is protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms gives you ownership of any part of it.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app as described in the EULA. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or create derivative works from the Service, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law or where we have given you written permission.

You may not use our name, logo, or trademarks in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation without our prior written consent.

13Termination

You may stop using Bickty at any time and delete your account from Account → Delete account.

We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or restrict features if: you violate these Terms or our Privacy Policy; we are required to do so by law; your use creates legal, security, or safety risk for us or others; your account is involved in fraud or abuse; or we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we will give notice and a chance to address the issue. For serious violations — such as content involving minors, threats, or fraud — we may act immediately.

If your account is terminated, your right to use the Service ends. Your content may be removed from public view, and you may lose access to your account and any content stored in it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including Sections 4 (for backup and archival copies), 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, and 20.

Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any purchase, except where required by law or Apple’s policies.

14Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that defects will be corrected; that the Service is free of viruses or harmful components; that content is accurate, complete, or reliable; or that any ride will take place as described or that users will behave as expected. No advice or information obtained through the Service creates a warranty that is not expressly stated in these Terms.

We do not provide professional advice of any kind, including mechanical, medical, nutritional, legal, or safety advice. Field Kit outputs are estimates only.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply to the maximum extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms limits any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be limited.

15Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bickty and its team, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid to Bickty in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This cap applies regardless of the theory of liability.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including, where applicable, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections apply notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Terms.

You and we agree that these limitations reflect a reasonable allocation of risk, and that the Service would not be offered on the same terms without them.

16Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bickty and its team, contractors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your content; (b) your use of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms or the law; (d) a ride you host or join; or (e) your infringement of another person’s rights.

We will notify you of any such claim and may participate in or control the defence where appropriate. You agree to cooperate with us. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault or imposes obligations on us without our written consent. This section does not apply to the extent prohibited by law, and it does not require you to indemnify us for our own negligence or wilful misconduct.

17Disputes, arbitration, and governing law

Talk to us first

If you have a dispute with us, please email support@bickty.app with a description of the issue and the outcome you are seeking. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. This informal step is a condition of starting arbitration, but it does not affect any right you may have to go to small claims court or to seek urgent relief.

Binding individual arbitration

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and Bickty agree that the dispute will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its applicable rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will take place in California, or another location we both agree to, and will be conducted in English. The arbitrator will have authority to award the same remedies that a court could award, subject to these Terms and applicable law. You and we each waive the right to a trial by jury.

Small claims and injunctive relief

Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Either party may also seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court to prevent imminent harm, infringement of intellectual property, or misuse of the Service. Nothing in this arbitration agreement prevents you from seeking public injunctive relief in court where applicable law gives you that right.

No class actions

You and Bickty agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding, except as required by applicable law.

Your right to opt out

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@bickty.app within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” and your name and username. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, subject to the governing law below. Opting out will not affect any other part of these Terms.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of the arbitration agreement. Subject to the arbitration agreement, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any dispute not subject to arbitration.

If you are a consumer resident outside the United States, the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence continue to apply, and you may have the right to bring a claim in your local courts. Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising those rights.

If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the remainder will be enforced as permitted by law, and any unenforceable portion will be severed.

18Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will give additional notice — for example, in the app or by email — before it takes effect, where reasonably possible.

By continuing to use the Service after the effective date of updated Terms, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account. Changes will not apply retroactively to disputes that arose before the change.

19General

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and EULA, are the entire agreement between you and Bickty regarding the Service, and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.

Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

Assignment. We may assign these Terms or our rights and obligations without your consent, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.

Notices. We may give notices through the Service, on this site, or by email. You agree that electronic notices satisfy any legal requirement that a notice be in writing.

Force majeure. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages, network failures, natural disasters, or third-party service interruptions.

Apple. If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms as they relate to the app and may enforce them against you. Apple is not otherwise a party to these Terms. The EULA contains additional Apple-specific terms.

Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version controls to the extent permitted by law.
